The following statement has just been received by the Residents’ Association from Graven Hill VDC:-
“With effect 11 December the Harras fencing will be moved to new locations. The attached diagram (details the new restricted building area, resident’s circulation and the proposed bus route. Once blocks E2 and E3 are completed, we intend to fully open Westacott Road and envisage this will be by 1 March 2021.”
A message from GHVDC:-
“ A Sweeper has been engaged by Graven Hill for every Friday at 0730 for 3 hours up to Christmas excluding Christmas Day (instead the visit will be Wednesday 23rd December).
Residents – if possible, please do not park in the on-street parking bays on Fridays and 23rd December to ensure as thorough a clean as possible “
GHVDC Statement 6 Nov 2020:-
“We have no secured tenants for any of the commercial spaces at present but we continue to market the spaces. We have a number of interested parties in a coffee facility within Block E, continue to have strong interest in the local store which will be delivered in conjunction with Block A apartments and managing enquiries relating to the nursery.
Like many developments, COVID-19 has had an impact including reduced number of commercial enquiries/viabilities of certain types of businesses to start up and our occupation rates are less than planned. This has resulted in a drop off in enquiries for the remaining retail and pub sites, so like any business we will continue to review our options regarding use and timescales for the development.
GHVDC will continue to provide updates as and when we have information to share via the residents newsletter and liaison meeting with the Graven Hill Residents’ Group.”
Sadly we are not allowed to hold a Graven Hill Remembrance Service this year due to lockdown.
Residents are encouraged to stand at their doors at 11am for 2 minutes silence followed by a clap for our armed forces.

OCC have stated:- “Our delivery team are aiming to begin work in Spring 2021, subject to all the relevant sign-off taking place as scheduled.” Proposed route indicated on PDF: cycleway-london-road-plans.pdf
OCC have stated:- “we have appointed consultants to review options and they are currently looking in detail at the potential to use an existing railway underbridge to get the route across the railway as a new pedestrian/cycle overbridge will be much more difficult to deliver. Once we have their detailed report we will undertake some consultation with stakeholders which will of course include Graven Hill residents. We anticipate that this will be in November/December.”
